Walk The Plank

Posted under Inspiration, Interior Design, Urban Timber by on June 8, 2011

This swashbucklin’ bedroom can be mistaken for a pirate’s quarters aboard the Black Pearl.  This design by Steven Gambrell can promise smooth sailing for your own Captain Jack and his mateys.

Adorned with Port Hole Light Fixtures and cargo net, you can recreate this look by hitting the deck first with our Urban Timber in Karu.  Think Robbin’s Egg Blue and Navy mixed with patterned red upholstery, and the classic red and white stripe will be a lifesaver!

Bamboo Roman Shades and natural materials will help create a marine look, and be sure to incorporate island treasures such as shells and driftwood.  Nautical décor such as Anchor Pillows will have your Captain Jack ready to moor the ship.  Savvy?

Sleeping Beauty’s Gone Country

Posted under Inspiration, Urban Timber by on June 6, 2011

After a long day of playing in fields of Baby’s Breath, this open and airy space is where Sleeping Beauty rests her head at night.  White, gauzy cotton dresses and Reclaimed Cowboy Boots are perfect for petal picking, and this country chic cabin incorporates vintage appeal and lush linens.

A pure white setting allows for small pops of color, like this Vintage White Chandelier with a little blue friend perched on a petal.  Get a soft wooden look with our Urban Timber, and relish in tea time this fanciful Down The Rabbit Hole Centerpiece.

Who needs a Prince to rescue you when sweet dreams are easy to come by in this country oasis?

I ♥ Herringbone

Posted under Inspiration, Mosaic Tiles, Urban Timber, Wallcoverings by on May 3, 2011

If you are looking for a unique look for your floors, walls, and textiles you should definitely consider the Herringbone pattern.  This Chevron-like pattern was first seen in the fashion world, and ever since Designers stepped outside the box and incorporated it into tile patterns and textiles we just can’t get enough of it!

Create the Herringbone pattern with our Urban Timber, Subway Tiles, and ask us about our Herringbone Mosaics.  Herringbone is an updated alternative to the Brick pattern, and when perfectly designed you can lead the viewer’s eye in a particular direction.  Get savvy on Herringbone and pick up a few essentials like Herringbone glassware, spruce up your sofa with Herringbone Pillows, design your own rug at Jonathan Adler, and don’t be afraid to embrace this chic pattern on your walls with paint or wallpaper!

You cannot go wrong with our popular Beveled Arabesque tile, and when framed with a border you can create a beautiful feature wall in your shower.  Feature walls are fabulous when you have glass shower doors or an open entry shower.  Small mosaic tiles are recommended for shower floors for draining and creating a slip resistant surface.  You can also apply a smaller mosaic tile on a bathroom floor with a border for smaller bathrooms, like this Carrara Mesh Mosaic framed by 12′x12′ Carrara Marble cut to size.

Here is one more beautiful feature wall in a shower with our Tabarka Arabesque tile.  This tile is similar in shape to our Beveled Arabesque, and like the other feature wall when framed and surrounded by a simple Subway Tile you can create a gorgeous focal point!
