For the Love of Tabarka!
Another Mission accomplished, and one happy home owner now cooks and lives in the world of Tabarka. You can have the same handcrafted look that takes you back in time, minus the wood burning stove.
Tabarka’s hand painted Terra Cotta tiles reveal more than a hand crafted look, they inspire a story. The moment your grandmother taught you how to cook lasagna, or the first cake you baked for your father’s birthday have one thing in common. These memories revolve around the kitchen, your kitchen that has stood the test of time with Tabarka.
5 CommentsMediterranean Style – Tabarka Terra Cotta
House Beautiful magazine recently featured Tabarka tile in their “Best of the Kitchen” list, and with good reason – this beautiful, hand-painted terra cotta tile adds a burst of Mediterranean color to brighten up any room.
Tabarka is hardy and perfect for kitchen backsplashes, floors, bathrooms and walls – you could say it puts the “tile” in “versatile.”Lots of colors and patterns to choose from, Tabarka is hand-painted and no two tiles are exactly alike which softens the look of the area whether small or large, giving it amazing character, adding new life to tile.

1 CommentThe Prodigal Tile Son
If you thought you loved tile, your tile obsession may be put to the test with one person in particular. Centuries ago a wealthy father’s distrust led him to believe his son would never amount to anything. His son’s lifestyle caused him to believe that if he didn’t change his ways he would “never build his house of tiles”.
As an act of defiance the “Prodigal Son” fled to Italy to purchase thousands of tiles to apply to the façade of the building he had inherited. The son’s House of Tiles in Mexico City is a total 50 Cent move, putting him back in good graces with his discerning father.
Ask us about our Mexican Tabarka Tiles to get this look, and if you are ever in Mexico City, just ask any local where to find the House of Tiles. Be sure to dine in the restaurant, and reminisce on your own “how do you like me NOW’s”.

The Summer Line Up
Summer entertaining opens up so many outdoor opportunities, but if the sun is scorching your guests it is a great idea to have a cooler, shaded area. This exotic pool house lounge will have your guests mistake Nashville for Thailand.
The horizontal linear effects of this space create a lofty and relaxing atmosphere perfect for a cocktail soiree! The monochromatic color palette won’t have your guests singing the blues, but singing your praises. Our Tabarka tile gives an appearance of ancient discovery, while these Side Tables offer chatter over cocktails.
Incorporate comfy cushions with luxurious fabrics to create a lush look, and be sure to get the summer line up with a few mixers to get the party started!
A Special Thanks to Marie Claire Maison for the inspiration!
1 CommentMission Accomplished: Client Installation Photos
When designing your home the tile selections are one of the more permanent features that will be displayed, and at Mission Stone & Tile we help you make the right selections that will reflect your personality and taste. This particular client’s home showcases a combination of tiles in different areas of the home, but with similar shapes and styles they all mesh to create an aesthetically pleasing environment. Be sure to send us your installation photos to be featured here!
This kitchen features tile from the Tabarka line, creating an eclectic and European look.
Urban Timber gives you the hardwood look without the worry of scratching or using special cleaning products, and this Herringbone pattern creates an updated chic look!
You cannot go wrong with our popular Beveled Arabesque tile, and when framed with a border you can create a beautiful feature wall in your shower. Feature walls are fabulous when you have glass shower doors or an open entry shower. Small mosaic tiles are recommended for shower floors for draining and creating a slip resistant surface. You can also apply a smaller mosaic tile on a bathroom floor with a border for smaller bathrooms, like this Carrara Mesh Mosaic framed by 12′x12′ Carrara Marble cut to size.
Here is one more beautiful feature wall in a shower with our Tabarka Arabesque tile. This tile is similar in shape to our Beveled Arabesque, and like the other feature wall when framed and surrounded by a simple Subway Tile you can create a gorgeous focal point!
