What Can I Use To Clean My Tile?
We all want to take care of our investment – that backsplash isn’t going to clean itself and you don’t want to just start spraying Windex or surface cleaner willy nilly over everything. Just as we offer you great quality tile, we want you to be able to use quality cleaning goods to keep everything in tip-top shape so your investment lasts its lifetime.
To answer the question of “what do I use to properly clean my tile?” we turn to Niky of Mission Stone & Tile.
For everyday cleaning, TEC Refresh Pro is a great cleaner for natural stone countertops. It isn’t rough, and won’t damage the surface. It also has a little sealant protection chemical in it, so the more you use it, the better it is!
Marble countertops/backsplashes: that same Refresh Pro is great for everyday. If you need some serious stain removal, I suggest a product called Poultice, which you just mix and apply to the stain and it draws it right out!
Porcelain or ceramic backsplashes: Aqua Mix makes a cleaner called Nanoscrub, and for Glass backsplashes we recommend Refresh Pro. They both are perfect for cleaning those little grout lines!
Thanks Niky!

Living with Gills
Indulge in an underwater excursion sans wet suit, and simply sleep and eat with sea creatures at the Conrad Resort in theMaldives. You’ll be captivated by the beautiful deep blue and sparkling scales, but who would be able to sleep under a million ton tank of sea water? I don’t know if I could, but it sure would be cool to say I did!
Their underwater dining room also offers the same experience, minus the Jaws music that would be playing in my head if I actually spent the night there while a giant fish circled over me!
Fearful or not, this underwater living space will have you breathing through your gills.
3 CommentsFascinated with Royal Fashion!
Millions tuned in to see Prince William and Princess Catherine say “I Do”, and the reveal of Catherine’s dress ceases all the speculation. The beautiful lace and satin dress made by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen without a doubt makes the Princess the best dressed lady at the royal wedding. Elegant and classic, her gown resembles the gown worn by Grace Kelly.
While Prince William looks dapper in his Army uniform, I have to say David Beckham is the best dressed male guest! Instead of wearing the Navy uniform like Prince Harry, Prince William decided to wear the red Army uniform in honor of all the fallen soldiers.
Pippa Middleton looked graceful in her all satin gown, and the adorable flower girls donned Lily of the Valley in their hair. Fascinators and hats worn by the ladies attending the royal wedding were structured, simple, and some perhaps over the top. Hats aside, the Prince and Princess’ kiss takes the cake, and will go down in history as one of the most memorable royal moments.

FINNISH Your Supper, My Dear
When you come across an image that reminds you of the past, suddenly your mind starts remembering the smells, the laughter, the rumbling in your belly for your mother’s best dish. I came across this image of an enamel salad bowl, and suddenly that ordinary looking dish sparked my childhood memories.
While innocent and unknowing, when you are child you are unaware of the history or worth of certain household items that cradle your greens at the supper table. After many years of passing this salad bowl around the table, I discover that this bowl is not just an ordinary bowl, but a piece of art designed by Kaj Franck, a Finnish Desinger.
Kaj Franck is known for his enamel and ceramic dishes and glassware, and perhaps most reknown for his pieces created for Arabia. Kaj Franck has since passed, but some of his creative genius is now crafted by Ittalia. You can also find his pieces floating around at antique stores or online, like this one lucky seeker who purchased his Enamel Fish Pot. Most of his designs are kept restored in Museums, however these whimsical and classic pieces are meant to be cooked in and shared with your loved ones. Who’s hungry?

Inspired By: Nashville Fashion Week
When you hear “Fashion Week” you automatically think of Paris or Milan or New York. It’s time to adjust how your brain works and add Nashville to its list. Starting next Monday 3/29, our wonderful hometown, Music City, NASHVEGAS!! becomes host to Nashville’s Fashion Week showcasing local designers and boutiques (Manuel, Imogene+Willie just to name a couple), and shows/receptions with fashion bigwigs Kelly Cutrone and Christian Siriano.
As an ode to Nashville Fashion Week and the designers being featured, I thought we’d play a little game of Wear This, Live In That:
Christian Siriano (Via Style.com) & Gigi’s Groovy Stix “Cara Mia Crimson”
Julianna Bass & Lithios Design “Seta”
Christian Siriano (via Style.com) & Bianco Carrara Marble Backsplash Tile
Katherine Kidd & Lithios Design “Du Tile” in Bianco
I think I’m going to get myself some tickets to the event! What about you?
