The soft effect of the limestone is cut from a 12×12 to a 6×12 turned on the vertical to create an updated version of the classic brick pattern.  The Maluku Tan Pebbles on the shower floor fits perfectly into this spa-like retreat.

This bathroom is an excellent example of considering the era of the style of the home.  The Ceramic Basketweave with Light Grey Dot compliments the Cararra Marble countertop, and is not as harsh as the traditional black and white basktweave.

This is the real show stopper.  Timeless and elegant, the Cararra Mini Brick (currently on sale for $6.99/sf through July 2011) in this kitchen is an excellent choice for a classic backplash.

Mission Accomplished: Client Installation Photos

Posted under Mission Accomplished, Mosaic Tiles, Tabarka, Urban Timber by on April 28, 2011

When designing your home the tile selections are one of the more permanent features that will be displayed, and at Mission Stone & Tile we help you make the right selections that will reflect your personality and taste.  This particular client’s home showcases a combination of tiles in different areas of the home, but with similar shapes and styles they all mesh to create an aesthetically pleasing environment.  Be sure to send us your installation photos to be featured here!

This kitchen features tile from the Tabarka line, creating an eclectic and European look.

You cannot go wrong with our popular Beveled Arabesque tile, and when framed with a border you can create a beautiful feature wall in your shower.  Feature walls are fabulous when you have glass shower doors or an open entry shower.  Small mosaic tiles are recommended for shower floors for draining and creating a slip resistant surface.  You can also apply a smaller mosaic tile on a bathroom floor with a border for smaller bathrooms, like this Carrara Mesh Mosaic framed by 12′x12′ Carrara Marble cut to size.

Here is one more beautiful feature wall in a shower with our Tabarka Arabesque tile.  This tile is similar in shape to our Beveled Arabesque, and like the other feature wall when framed and surrounded by a simple Subway Tile you can create a gorgeous focal point!

A special thanks to M. E. Beck Design, Inc.
and Dwell Construction for this installation and photo.

Break away from the standard subway tile shape, and embrace the ornate beauty of our award-winning Beveled Arabesque.  This glazed ceramic tile is unique in shape, and creates a custom look to any kitchen or bathroom.  Whether your style is classic, contemporary, or eclectic, you can instantly update your space by incorporating our Beveled Arabesque into your kitchen as a backsplash, or create a feature wall in your bathroom.

Combined with natural stone or other ceramic or porcelain tiles, the Beveled Arabesque adds character and interest without pomp or circumstance.  Offered in White and Ivory, we have decided to add four more Color Options to the Beveled Arabesque Line!  While White and Ivory offer versatility, you will find that these new neutral colors allow you to work with many color tones too!

Change up the vibe and incorporate our new cooler grey tones: Steel Me Away and Up In Smoke, or warm up your space with our new tan and dark brown tones: Sun-kissed Moroccan and Chocolate Ganache!

From “Blah.” to “Spa!”

Rebirth of a Residential Bath

From “Blah.” to “Spa!” with a Tile Transformation

mg 7996 From Blah. to Spa!

Helen Moore’s bathroom is a spa-like retreat awash in a fresh, natural canvas of beautiful tile.  From the soft, artful blend of the floor’s border patterns that gently envelope generously proportioned field tile to the textural touches that artfully climb the shower walls, this private retreat is a showcase of tile’s trans-formative powers.

mg 7962 300x199 From Blah. to Spa!To see this inspired space now, it’s hard to imagine it wasn’t always so light and bright. Before its tile transformation, this bathroom had limestone floors that needed updating , and the overall look was nice enough—though nothing stand-out.

Of course, that  floor sparked the need for a floor-to-ceiling, intensive redesign of the space. The homeowner entrusted the project to Nashville Interior Designer Landy Gardner, making a outdated bathroom an opportunity to create her dream bathroom.

Mission Stone & Tile was Landy’s first stop when it came to reinventing the space. In the Mission showroom, Landy and the homeowner surveyed a treasure trove of imaginative tiles until a particular border pattern caught their eyes. The chosen border is an ordered mosaic of oval shapes blending an earthly yet ethereal color palette that ultimately inspired the bath’s entire redesign.

With the unique border and large format field tile as the foundation, Landy invented a sophisticated, breathable bathroom that uses tile’s style to the utmost advantage. The interplay of shapes, textures, sizes and tonal colors keeps things interesting while achieving spatial harmony.  The large tiles are balanced by unique details to make the room open and cozy all at once.

Lights, Camera, Installation!

Posted under Bathrooms, Designers We Love, Mission Accomplished by on January 22, 2011

This week we worked with photographer Sheri Oneal to capture one of our latest tile installations at a local Nashville home.  We worked in conjunction with Landy Gardner Interiors to capture a traditional and elegant bathroom with a few contemporary touches.

Bathroom Tile Installation

The color scheme is very neutral with hints of muted colors that provide a glow and warmth.  The bathroom floor consists of a 12” x 12” Crema Marfil with a leather finish, and a custom border made of strips cut from a 12” x 12” sheet of our Desert Sand Honed Trellis Pattern mosaic.  The leather finish provides a soft and smooth feel and creates a weathered look.

Crema Marfil and Desert Sand Mosaic Border

The shower walls are a combination of 12” x 12” Crema Marfil, and to give the shower a more updated look, strips of Light Emperador line the base.  When applying tile to the shower floor, you have to consider the slope or curve to the drain.  These 2” Desert Sand Hexagon Tiles are a fabulous shape, and compliment the Light Emperador strips and Desert Sand Mosaics on the bathroom floor.

Finally, the tub backsplash takes on the same color way as the Desert Sand Mosaics, but incorporate a different shape.  Like the strips in the shower, the Desert Sand Stripes Border compliment the tub surrounds.
