Today is a reflection of our lives with our fathers, and how they have taught us to do even the simplest things such as how to ride a bike, gardening, how to hold a paint brush, and the painstakingly idea of fishing. While these were many of the things that my father taught me, I like to think that each of us has a special something that they remember about their father, or the father figure in their lives. This Father’s Day I reflect back on these special moments growing up with my father, but I am also looking forward to the future.
This summer I am going to marry a man that has one of the most genuine qualities a gentleman has to offer. Someday he will be an amazing father to our children, as I have seen how he interacts with my nieces and nephews, and his love for his own nieces and nephew. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us a married couple, and with the union of our marriage I have also gained another father. My soon to be father-in-law has welcomed me into the family from the beginning, and I appreciate the encouragement he has shown for our union as a married couple.
The love I have for all the special men in my life is important to me, as we may not always be together, but when we do it’s as if time has not passed. The future holds an amazing story that will be remembered by our future children, and I cannot imagine a more joyful thing than a child and their father and grandfathers. To all the fathers, grandfathers, and uncles on this special day of reminiscing old stories, and to making new ones, Happy Father’s Day!
